As part of her contribution to the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference 2012 (ISSOTL12) in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Margaret MacDougall designed a poster on the Cardiovascular Measurement Scales Wiki project. This poster informed discussions that took place during the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Pre-ISSOTL Workshop. The project work fell under the relevant CUR themes

• undergraduate research generating transformative learning

and

• the influence of technological changes on undergraduate research.

This provided the opportunity for a useful discussion to take place on the potential utility of the Wiki as a tool with a strong evidence base for informing clinical decision-making which sits at the top level of the recognized hierarchy of effectiveness in the teaching and learning of Evidence-Based Medicine, namely Level 1: Interactive and clinically integrated teaching and learning activities.

The poster was subsequently presented by Paul Liu at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2013 (BCUR2013) in Plymouth.
